Perhaps I should stop posting for today...I came across a recipe in the New York Times for mitsi, one of my favorite Turkish dishes. It is essentially a dumpling stuffed with lamb and mint and served in a yogurt and butter sauce. My mouth has literally been watering for the last 2 hours.
Tom also mentioned a challah recipe that he'd like to try, also from the NYT. This one looks good, too, but I'm a bit frightened by the size of it since the article describes it as the size of a "skateboard" and directs you to remove all of the racks in your oven save the bottom one to make room for the monster.
Every time I travel to New York I am filled with all sorts of ideas of what I'd like to cook. Rarely to I achieve a 10th of what I have set out to do. In any event, I stumbled upon this website, ScandCook.com, that's essentially propaganda from the Scandinavian countries (Sweden, Norway, and Denmark). I really love this type of cooking, which is funny because I have only recently begun to eat fish. I think what appeals to me is the minimal technique involved and the freshness and assertiveness of the flavors. Who doesn't love vanilla and strawberries? Of course, the ingredients are often challenging to find - cloudberries and rapeseed oil (which is probably grapeseed oil), anyone? One of my dreams would be to travel there some day. Hmmm...honeymoon?

I suppose traveling to a place with limited daylight in October leaves plenty of time for alternate honeymoon activities. :-P
