One of my tricks is to not only read blogs from brides and wedding aficionados, but wedding planners as well. Today, Always a Bridesmaid answered a question about throwing a wedding in NYC for a "middle class" budget of $40K. Props to Mother Whimsy for suggesting Thalassa, a Greek restaurant downtown. It looks like it may be an up-and-coming wedding venue after all. I love being cutting edge!

I went to Thalassa 3+ years ago and I'm still dreaming about their food! Please provide me an opportunity to eat their again!
