I've been stalking the Anthropologie Reed dress for months (no longer available on-line). It went on sale yesterday for 50% off. Thanks to a lovely and generous gift card from my sister-in-law, Stephanie, I bought two - one in red plaid and one in emerald green. The green is so my color, but it feels "traditional," where the red plaid screams "awesome" (or "Brooklyn" and "I follow trends," if you will. Do I return the plaid? Do I keep both?

I also bought a pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 13 sneakers. Yes, my last pair of sneakers was 5 years old (!) and my knees didn't like me very much.

I have a formula for dressing that I try to stick to as much as possible - each type of shoe (loafer, pump, boot) and a handbag in black and brown. Knee-high boots get tricky because you need a flat pair and a heeled pair. I currently own a black heeled boot (the spoils of my first-ever adult pay check 8 years ago, and yes, I still wear them), and a brown flat boot. I've been stalking this pair of boots from Garnet Hill for months, and they've been unavailable since January. Imagine my surprise when I spied a pair in brown. I'm a bit fearful that these may run small, but again, these are returnable.

And of course, I had to have these equestrian-styled Broadway boots from Seychelles. The calf looks very wide (15", and I believe I'm 13.5"), so I will likely return these. But if they work, boy oh boy.

And finally, I did not buy these Eric Michael Soho boots. But I am dying! I would be the coolest pediatrics resident this side of Paris if I could afford them....

Keep the plaid and keep the heeled boots.
I adore both of those dresses, and find them to be entirely different. Given that they were such a bargain, I say keep both!
