At long last, here are our Save the Dates. They were mailed last Monday, and so far have generated a fair amount of (nice) buzz, especially the magnet. I know, I know, I shouldn't have asked for advice via the poll if I wasn't going to take it (the majority of voters said send the postcard only), but I knew what the magnet looked like but couldn't show it on the blog. I love, love, love the way things turned out, and I apologize for my: 1) terrible photography skills, and 2) that my computer likes to wash images out.
Needless to say, I spent way to much time on this little project and my Pediatrics Clerkship grades show it. (Not a good thing.) In any event, here's the gory details:
*The magnet was designed by Cheryl Pascual and the postcard by me, all images I believe came from iStockPhoto. Fonts used include Felix Titling, Freebooter, Edwardian Script, and Mrs. Eaves.
*We printed both the magnet and the postcard through Vistaprint. I give them a B. They were incredibly user friendly and the shipping was fast (ordered on Sunday, received by Friday). The quality on the good magnets and postcards was very, very good. But I'd say about 30% of the magnets were either cut wrong or the image was this weird blurry, as if they phototransferred the image onto the vinyl and the vinyl moved during the transfer. Also, the postcards were also cut wrong and had finger/smudge prints on some of the images. These were dirt cheap with a coupon (seriously, Google Vistaprint coupons and save some money!), so I'm less inclined to be mad about the quality. Except, now everyone wants one and I may not have printed enough...
*Vistaprint did not have a manget size we wanted, so Tom actually spent a decent hour cutting the magnets down to size. I'll give him an A- because he complained. Alot.
*The envelopes we bought at Paper Presentation.
*We also bought the wrap-around labels at Paper Presentation. They have this great full-sheet laser jet compatible label paper. I desiged the template and over way too many hours entered the addresses by hand (because I'm a novice at mail merge). I printed them at the local Kinko's for $0.59 a page (8 labels to a sheet) and hand-cut them down to size using an X-acto knife and a self-healing cutting mat.
*Stamps were courtesy of the good-old USPS.
Any questions?

These are fantastic -- congratulations!!!
My envelopes and pouchettes came from Paper Presentation too - their stuff is just plain yummy. :-)
Such a great job!
We have gotten nothing but 12 thumbs up on the magnets and postcards. It was worth every second you and Tom spent on them. Can't wait to get the wedding invitation!
