I love the casual, modern vibe of these Australian groomsmen. Far too casual for our NYC wedding, but the look can be adapted...in fact, Tom discovered some similar suits for his party. What I adore is the idea of pattern for the groomsmen. There's no reason why they should be Plain Jane's (or Johns, as it were).

Brown glen-plaid suit from Banana Republic. Love the vest!

Espresso and marigold (because c'mon, face it, yellow and brown sounds gross) is a hard color palette to match in a way, but my fashionable uncle suggested dark gray, like this ensemble from J. Crew. (Yay, vest!)

Or this pinstripe, also from J. Crew.

Suits are, of course, expensive to buy, so Tom came up with this ahhhmazing Calvin Klein suit to rent (with the help of his excellent best man, Jared, btw). (And yes, that's Halle Berry's beautiful man, Gabriel Aubry. Is it wrong that I know that?)

Finally, props to Ricky for finding a photo (source unknown) of how a brown suit would look with a grey/navy one. We're thinking maybe Tom cold wear one color, and the groomsmen another. Everyone owns a navy suit, right? Maybe the groomsmen can wear their own and Tom get a new one in brown? (Okay, this last picture was just a chance to shout out to Ricky 'cause I like it when he leaves me comments. I'm not making any sense anymore, so I'll go. Bye.)

I love, love, love the gray J. Crew.
A weekly column works pretty well over at my deal ;-)
