Fall Design Board

So I'm no Snippet & Ink, but here is a collection of images I like loosely assembled into a Fall-themed "design board." In this case, the theme is "fall," and I have dumped the "naturalist theme." I'm not sure that this will always be the case, but it seems hard to marry wheat with butterfly specimens. Most likely the decision will be an either/or kind of thing.

1st row: invitation from Bella Figura, wheat boutonniere from InStyle Weddings, gown from La Sposa, glass spheres from Areo Home.
2nd row: cake from Martha Stewart, bridesmaid dress from Anthropologie (no longer available), copper trays from Lee Valley Tools.
3rd row: centerpiece from Toast and Tables, pumpkins from Martha Stewart, wheat centerpiece from Martha Stewart.
4th row
: wheat centerpiece from Hallmark (no longer available), floating apple votives from Martha Stewart, dahlia bouquet from Stella Alesi Photography via the Knot.

This board was inspired by the wheat boutonniere, which ties in nicely with pictures of the wheat centerpieces. The centerpieces are an attractive idea because they are: 1) DIY (instructions here and here), 2) cost-effective, and 3) can be made in advance. The one downside is the potential for allergies - I assume some people would be allergic to raw wheat, right? I also really like the floating apple votives because they are a tongue-in-cheek reference to bobbing for apples. If we decide on the Metropolitan Building, the copper bathtub would be ideal for floating them. Incidentally, I picked up a device called a "candle carver" on my last shopping trip to Bed, Bath, and Beyond which can be used to easily turn apples (or any other fruit you so desire, like pumpkins) into votives. I love the copper trays for setting up candles around the venue, or for stashing toiletries and incidentals in the bathrooms. The cake is an attempt to tie in with the dahlias and/or spider mums I'd like to use. Ideally, the base frosting color would be an off-white, and the piping between the layers would fit with the day's color scheme - blue, orange, green. And the invitation is admittedly plain, but I've been vibing lately on the funky calligraphy-only invitation - kind of a throwback to the traditional wedding invitation, but with a decidedly modern twist. (And I'm getting frustrated with finding the one image to sum up our collective 59 years of life.)
