#348

If you knew me back in college, you'd have known about my dorm room shrine to Le Petit Prince. There are many reasons why I loved the book, but most importantly my uncle gifted me his French copy to use for high school French class. The story goes that he died a few months later from AIDS. I still cherish his handwritten marginalia as he struggled to teach himself French. It's one of the few tangibles I have of him, especially since I no longer remember the sound of his voice. The book was all about the nature of the ephemeral and it really spoke to me as I struggled to incorporate my first Great Big Hurt. Read about the sixth great planet, the geographer, the flower, and the meaning of "ephemeral" here. To this day, I still get chills and a sense of recognition.

It kind of ruins the poignancy to talk about weddings, but here goes. I love this Le Petit Prince-inspired save the date posted on Brooklyn Bride this week.

And one of Snippet & Ink's first ever inspiration boards, inspired by the classic. I think of the book more in tones of blue, but still a pretty board, nonetheless.
