I may be on a wedding break, but I realize that doesn't mean I'm on a blogging break. This site is super old news, but I discovered Smitten Kitchen a few weeks ago. Oh. Mah. Gaw. I'm in heaven. The photography is breathtaking, and it helps that I want to make 4 out of 5 of the recipes on the front page, most especially the Bittersweet Chocolate and Pear Cake. Tom is coming to visit in a week, and I do so look forward to his visits. I clean the apartment (always a good thing), I dream of the many presents I'll make him (and typically run out of time for), and try to pick one recipe to experiment with while he's here. He usually tries to talk me out of such endeavors because my fierce concentration when baking frightens him. But what a great Valentine's idea - the Flaky Blood Orange Tart!
