Firstly, this invitation suite by thoughtfulday really gets at what I'm looking for in an invitation. She has a wonderfully inspiring wedding blog and I have admired her wedding invitations for some time, but today is the first time I have seen a really comprehensive set of photos of her invitations. If you know me, you know that yellow is my favorite color...needless to say, stunning. Thanks to (Oh So) Beautiful Paper for posting the images. Check out the link for more photos.

Speaking of (Oh So) Beautiful Paper, also a wedding blog, the author threw another one of my most inspiring weddings ever. Her photos were shot by the ridiculously talented Punam Bean. I decided to contact Ryan Brenizer for photography first since he's more in our price range, but I dreamed of working with Ms. Bean because: 1) she shot my college friend Rupal's wedding (and really communicated who Rupal was), 2) her work speaks for itself, and 3) her website uses "Stardust" as background music. What I liked so much about this wedding were the cakes...this is my platonic ideal of wedding cake. Tom was pretty shocked when I told him about the $2 per slice cake cutting fee that caterers charge, and I immediately thought of these photos, coupled with mini pies, as a way around the expense. Don't they look delicious...and real?

Finally, three more photos, courtesy of the Haven blog.
My wedding as a picture:

I think Tom would like this bathroom - it's blue after all. But it has just enough femininity to make me feel at home.

Hi Anna! Thanks so much for featuring my blog - and for your lovely comments about my wedding. Choosing real cakes from our local bakery was definitely one of the best decisions we made. It ended up being cheaper than going with a traditional wedding cake baker and tasted SOOO good that it was definitely worth it. Plus now we have a great tradition planned for our anniversaries - cupcakes from the same bakery!
