I figured it was high-time to update my four readers on the eternal/infernal search for the perfect venue. When we last left our weary heroes in March, we had found one venue that stood a fighting chance, and two other alternates. In the ensuing months, it became apparent that our original date was a no-go, due to religious conflicts. So we bumped the date back.
As of today, we have appointments next week to see the Asia Society and revisit the Metropolitan Building. Unfortunately, the Metropolitan Building is not available on our date, and so we're in a bit of a scramble. I can't help but reflect on the strange nature of NYC weddings. Our intended month, October, is rapidly booking it's latter half - don't you love competition! - largely, I think, because of the Jewish holidays - while August and September remain largely available. Any other part of the country, and there would be a tooth-and-nail fight for September. I love this town.
