#325

So I drew my first tube of blood today. Ever. And it was an arterial stick, much more painful and difficult than a venipuncture. And I succeeded on my first try. A small victory, but for the first day ever I truly felt like a doctor. Obviously, the day held more than a simple arterial blood gas draw. And sure, I've had moments of transcendence before, like the time I touched a beating heart or the many times I've contemplated the pure softness of gut. But never have I felt so needed.
