
When I was little, there was a fancy British shoemaker across the street from my grade school. (Now there's a precious antiques shop that sells the best seasonal tchotchkes.) I have no idea where this idea came from, but I declared (threatened?) that I would wear a pair of white kid glove boots in the window on my wedding day. Perhaps this was amusing, because my parents occasionally remind me of this story. (Above shoes from Peter Fox.)
Now that I am older, I am not sure what I think of the shoes (or their price tag). One of the things I love most about the "real weddings" posted on my daily constitutional of wedding blogs is how so many brides wear absolutely ridiculous and personal shoes to their weddings. I just love, love, love the idea of blue or orange shoes peeking out from my dress. (I guess some things never change.) I really like the colors that these J. Crew shoes come in, especially the one with the geranium print, although I'm not partial to the bow. Too bad my feet are too narrow to fit in mainstream shoes:
