I helped 3 babies transition from the womb to independence today, and I wish I could say it was as exhilarating as the day Ava was born. But I guess it's hard to connect with little peanuts when they won't cooperate with their breathing. It's doubly hard to remember that they have new parents, and how exciting this is for them, and that you should acknowledge their role, too.
In any event, Joanna Goddard started to write about motherhood today, and she had this awesomely beautiful quote. While I may not be a mother, I am something of a curator of quotes, so I had to share:
"Loneliness does not come from being alone, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important."
-Carl Jung
...and to check in. The world is far from perfect, and I feel lonely a lot. But I'm working on it. Thanks for reading if you're here.
