(Source)Whoa...lots of posts today.
Many of you know that Tom and I have yet to take a trip to celebrate the wedding. Instead, we got H1N1. We had originally planned to take a trip between graduation in May and residency in June, but with a residency start date far earlier than anticipated (June 9th, and one for which I will not got paid!), and prior commitments at the end of May, there's simply no time. Kind of frustrating about how little control I had over the timing of things, but such is.
Which brings me to my next brilliant idea. One of the wonders of residency is the 4 weeks of enforced vacation time. I have never had that much time off in my life. So, while I will be turning 30 in September, I have instead hatched a plan to take a trip to coincide with our first anniversary, a sort of "re-do" of our memorable week-after-the-wedding that was filled with fevers, drenched sheets, used tissues, and lots and lots of "Mad Men." Of course, Tom has not agreed to my plan yet. But just you wait, Dear Readers, he will. Oh yes, he will.
So, if you could go anywhere in the world (on a cheap-o budget), where would you go? I'm a beach person. Tom is solidly not. He likes "culture." I'll know which one of us you love more by your answers. Begin! (And thanks.)

nice, france - beaches and culture; but not so cheap
One of my dreams is to go to Barcelona. Greece and Italy also have a wonderful combination of culture and beaches (although littered with naked bodies). Southern France is fabulous, but pricier.
If you like warm, exotic lakes, Lake Atitlan in Guatemala is one of the most beautiful places I've seen, and it would be an easy trip to the Maya ruins. It may not be so nice in October, however.
Northern Morocco is also supposed to be incredible.
Finally, if you can convince him to go to Hawaii, I know a great place to stay, and may be able to get you a deal in October. :)
